How To Make Chocolate Fudge Brownies

So today I was thinking about what type of food really puts me into a good mood. I mean there is Thai Food, the ever tantalizing chinese cuisine, delicious indian cuisine, and all my other favorites. Sometimes the only thing that can hit the spot is some really really good chocolate. Now I am not at all the type of person that absolutely loves chocolate but I do have a sweet tooth for the "brownie". Chocolate chocolatey drops of heaven. You basically bite down into chocolate goodness. For beginners trying to bake a good brownie it might be a good idea to just follow a box recipe like Betty Crocker's Fudge Brownies. I know this might seem like a cop out to you hard core chocolate lovers but it does save a lot of time! here is recipe you can try out if you are a bit more adventurous as well...

This brownie is tall and has a cake like consistency but it still has that fudgie part that we all love..

INGREDIENTS:
8- 1 ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter
5 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat; set aside. In a mixer, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla at high speed for 10 minutes**. Blend in chocolate mixture, flour and salt until just mixed.

Oh and the secret ingredient that I just discovered? Place a small glass bowl of water in the oven while baking your brownies. I don't get the whole scientific process but it somehow adds moisture to whatever you are cooking. This will get your brownie to the cakey style. I actually came to this by accident but it made my brownies amazing!

Who HAS the BEST Bean and Cheese Burrito??

Beans...where can I start? Most people try to avoid them since they can make a person quite...shall we say gassy? Although, this vegetable can cause humans to produce interesting sounds and odors...it is also something worth considering. By that I mean, Mexicans have created a wonderful concoction with the bean. This brings be to the bean burrito.

Basically, this amazingly tasty mexican dish is full of protein and extremely filling. I have eaten at several at several Mexican restaurants that make it successfully. Before I get into how to create the bean and cheese I would like to recommend a place that is local that one can order this dish for a mere $3.00 and you can eat like a king. This wonderous places is called La Cocina De Ricardo. Located nearby in Lake Forest. This place has a fantasic taco tuesday but also features my fav burrito filled with bean and cheese. Mexican fast food can come in many varieties but why go to your local Taco Bell when you can spend just as little but have a great gourmet meal? So check this place out and let me know what you think.

Phily's Best Sandwich in Cali?

I know I have tried to learn to cook and show you all my yummy recipes but a girl's gotta eat! And although I am learning quite a bit I get pretty busy sometimes. So my solution, you ask? My solution is to sometimes stroll around town looking for a delectible eatery.

Tonight my husband and I did not feel like cooking although we have plenty of food to cook! So we jumped in the car and headed north! Well not exactly...north. We headed to this place called Phily's Best. They are known to produce the authentic greasy tasty phily sandwich. Now the reason that I can vouch that they are is because I have experienced (once in my life) an ORIGINAL Philly Sandwich.

My family and I had a stop over in Philly's airport as we were going to an exotic location. We decided we wanted to try this infamous treat. And let me tell you, it was unforgettable. It was down right heavenly. You basically sink your teeth into a juicy steak sandwich dripping with juice, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and ofcourse everyones fav CHEESE. I have to say it was a memorable meal. So when I discovered a Phily's cheese shop right in my home town you better believe i was there! So Yvette's top pic of the week...is the original Phily Sandwich. It is undeniably a NON healthy meal but well worth the million calories. lol

Let's just say that a few of these sandwiches and you better be taking some serious gym classes. I would think you might even have quite a little belly going. Either way its a great meal to eat when you are low on time, money, and pretty hungry.

Oh and one more thing...I have ACTUALLY made a cheese steak sandwich all by my little self before. Believe it or not! Here is my recipe.

First get some bread
Then cut it in half
Then put it to toast
Meanwhile get some steak and chop it up into thin slices.
Then cook over high heat while adding a few spices, such as salt, pepper, cajun, whatever else you want.
Then melt some provolone cheese over the mixture cooking on the grill.
After that add the toast bread on top of the whole pile of steak and cheese
Then serve.
You can also add mushrooms, onions and green peppers if you fancy to your steak before adding the cheese and bread. That is entirely up to you! try it out, Its really hard to mess it up!
